  16. Yes, absolutely! We have installed TeX on a central file server that
  17. is quite fast in general, but has rather long round-trip times from
  18. most clients.  It is quite important to keep the number of NFS
  19. requests small.  I always had to install anything in a very flat
  20. directory structure to keep start-up times acceptable.
  21. The ls-R solution is quite attractive for us - I'll check it out!
